An elegant presentation in shadow box, the c.1830s Louis-Philippe portrait miniature is truly stunning - a beautiful young woman painted with such delicacy, she is captured for all time as a stylish beauty with the tri-parted hair dog-eared to her cheeks and drawn back - a style worn in the early 1830s. I found no signature and some indication she was later framed as you see her in this 1" deep shadow box frame. Deep sculpted dore bronze inner frame with gold mat, and a velvet backing. The glass protects all. The outer frame is 9 5/8" x 8 1/2" and 1" in depth. Full measurements noted on the photos.
Very good to excellent condition. Outer wood frame with shadow box interior covered with a cover glass at front of the 1" depth frame, very nicely preserved throughout. The painting is truly stunning, yet seems to me to have some restoration paint-in you will notice as a flatter green against the original smoky green background of the painting. Shows very well and the slight 'off' coloration is not as noticeable without photo lights on it. Just a mention. I found her in France.
