Right now this elegantly carved watch stand is on my mantel displaying an 18th century portrait miniature. Perhaps you'll want to display your favorite pocket watch or even a medal or jewelry item, or Italian Grand Tour micro mosaic plaque. Elaborately carved in the asymmetric rocaille popular from the Louis Kings of France, my best guesstimate would put it c.1840-70s. A permanent attachment of the carved paw easel stand makes it 6 1/4" in overall depth. Measurements noted on photos.

Very good to excellent condition, in from France and remarkably unscathed by time. I see a couple of tiny chips to the tips there at the very top. I have not touched up any so you can see where they are. A tiny touch-up with stain will make them disappear. I'm partial to carved wood, but this is truly a spectacular display stand!
