Elegant antique French sterling silver 12pc 5 5/8” dessert or teaspoon set with an ornate Louis XIV or Rococo Revival style pattern and all nestled in the original fitted storage and/or presentation box! The box rather unique in a shagreen looking green leatherette covering, the interior with silk in the lid and velvet in the base with indentions for the spoons. Scrolling tendrils & rocaille comprise the rear handle pattern, the tops with a simple bevel down the center. All bear the French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number “1” within means they’re in .950 silver (95% pure and so above the .925 standard for “sterling” silver). The silversmith marks are for Edmond Bonnescoeur, Paris circa 1887-1908.
Very good condition. Faint surface scuffs, indicative of age & light use. No breaks, other notable damage or repairs. The box does show its age some, all evident in the images. See pictures for all measurements.
