A gorgeous antique Victorian era, or Napoleon III era (c.1850s) French pillow, the old silk backing and silk passementerie trim still with it, but not the inner pillow form. While the old silk backing needs replaced, I think, the trim and front panel are both in wonderful condition to re-craft into a bold and elegant down-filled decorator or throw pillow. You'll want to use that same trim. The antique trims are just impossible to find in any quantity and costly if you happen to. At this time, there remains only one French company making these trims in the old way. Most now get machine-made in China and believe me, they're just not the same. The tassels on this are mostly gone, but still charming.
Very good to excellent condition and ready to get a new backing and a down-filled pillow within - and to thrill you for the next many generations. Colors are still vibrant, and have very little fade (see photo of the inner backside of the needlepoint). No mustiness, just the light scent of wool yarns. You'll want to make up several. We have a lot of wonderful panels to list. Ask me to put some with this that will compliment well.
