Incredibly pleasing composition of fruit, wine, and the wonderful addition of a bug, or fly. Beautifully accomplished, but I can find no signature of artist. Has obvious age, and we'd date it to perhaps c.1890-1920. Framed nicely in a gilded wood frame. Beautiful for dining room, kitchen, bar, or sized in a way that makes it right for hanging on a bookshelf, too. You know the look. Purchased many years ago in France.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type. The oil painting is worked on a heavy card panel, not a stretched linen canvas, so there is no issue of holes, tears, looseness to a stretcher. Just a really gorgeous overall surface and painting, ready to hang and enjoy. Hanging string or also a hanging apparatus up top. Frame is also in very nice condition, showing age but not much loss at all. All shows in our photos, including measurements. About 18" square.
