Brilliantly accomplished monochromatic portrait miniature, tiny 1/2" face on this beautiful blond girl. C. 1810-20s, something unique for your collection. Nicely preserved in her original frame, that miniature is just 1 1/2" x 1. 1/8" oval. Incredible work of art, yet our artist remains unknown to us. In that era, the artists were just working craftsmen and women for the most part - mostly men. The didn't seek fame, and were paid little for their superb skills. Yet here, 200 years later, we admire that skill, still. Isn't she fabulous with her thick braid and veil.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type. You can see her out of her frame, the wafer is perfect, and while she is pale, it emphasizes her pale blond hair and there are those blue blue eyes. Measurements are noted on our photos.
