Antique portrait miniature, Napoleon III (mid-Victorian), a beautiful young lady in royal blue off-shoulder gown with elegant jewelry and stylish hair, soulful eyes. I believe this portrait has been framed later on, probably was originally in one of the wood or papier mache flat period frames like the gentleman shown in the final photo group, but this frame is later than the painting. Shows her in gorgeous style, and displays with an opulent feel. She's on my walls right now, in fact. Measurements are noted on the photos.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type. She is painted on a very thin wafer, typical of the era and manner of the genre, and comprising well less than 5% of the total weight of the item. As for the painting, she is without flaw. I haven not opened the back of the frame, which is sealed, to see if there's signature or ID. I do not see a signature in the aperture. A deep recess oval mat shows her beautifully beneath the protective glass. Ready to hang.
