Oh, she's SO cute! A darling red-haired toddler, hair parted in the middle which tells us it's a girl. She's got beautiful pale blue-gray eyes and gorgeous features. High Empire waisted white child's gown with a blue high sash. There is no signature, sadly, but the miniature of a child is quite rare. All the more so, a red head. Her frame is just 4 1/4" square and 1/2" thick, and her portrait is only 2" diameter. That sweet little face is about 5/8" forehead to dimpled chin. And yet we can enlarge her to an amazing side and still have a charming painting. The miniatures do fascinate, don't they.
Very good to excellent condition throughout. No chips, hairlines, cracks or loss to the painting, and the cover glass and frame remain in fine form, too. The round brass mat shows age, and we didn't do any polishing to bring it up to full brightness, but our buyer certainly can. The painting is still backed with original vellum or parchment backing.
