A well-dressed gentleman fully in his era, dated 1849 is a superb small painting. It is sealed into the frame and with convex cover glass, making capturing the painting a bit difficult (glares, slightly blurry due to camera reading glass surface).
Very good to excellent for age and type, no hairlines, no chips, no cracks. As you can see in photos, the back is sealed to the frame with old onion skin paper, like is sometimes see holding portrait sealed to a backing.
