Antique French sterling silver 4pc meat & salad serving utensil set with ornate Louis XVI or rococo style pattern and silversmith marks for Emile PUIFORCAT! Aren't they gorgeous! An original matched set of four, a large meat carving knife & fork and salad fork & spoon with carved bowl & tines! The handles are all in sterling silver, the French Minerve or Minerva hallmark on all. The nearly unnoticeable number "1" mark within the Minerve marking designates them as being in .950 silver (95% pure and higher than the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). Silversmith marks are for the world renowned House of Puiforcat, Emile Puiforcat and date from. Known for the finest of finery, Puiforcat is one of only a handful of French silversmiths that have attained worldwide name recognition for their long lauded history and reputation for timeless patterns and unrivaled craftsmanship. Now owned by Hermes, also a name known for opulence. We actually also have a matching 83pc set of French sterling silver flatware, also Puiforcat and with this gorgeous rococo pattern. Be sure to browse a bit while you're with us. Thanks!
Very good-excellent condition. A tiny hairline crack in the carved fork portion, just where it meets the sterling handle but it's stable and solid. A bit of tarnish visible in the images, sorry :). The box may not be original but is as it came to us from France and will be included. See pictures for measurements.
