Elegant antique French Puiforcat hallmarked sterling silver 7pc flatware place setting for one, rare and sought after Empire style SWAN figural pattern and including the larger dinner sized pieces! Another of the few smaller one and two person place settings I'm working on, pieces that we've collected over the years and thought we might as well group together and offer them here. This set originally came to us from singles or groups found in France, the knives from another set but of similar age & style and they work wonderfully together. All pieces but the knife bear the French Minerva hallmark, the tiny number "1" within means they're in .950 silver (95% pure and above the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). The silversmith marks on them are for, of course, the world renowned Maison Puiforcat (EP for Emile Puiforcat), maker to royalty and the company now owned by Hermes, another with a long and lauded history of only the finest of fineery.
Very good condition. Some light surface scuffing, indicative of light use and age. The knife blade is pre-stainless so does show some age tarnish or corrosion. Some knife marks possible on the fork tines, a tiny hairline split visible in the ebony or ebonized wood handle. See pictures for measurements.
