Such a beautiful little painting, signed by the artist and from the 19th century, this one is painted in oil on wood panel (measurements noted on photos). Unframed, one might wish to frame, but it's also the intimately sized painting we all love set on easel along a bookcase shelf or mantel. The supplier of the wood panels' maker still readable on the backside of this beveled mahogany plaque, giving the address, 94, rue Lafayette, Paris.
Very good condition for age and type, some surface disruption as you can evaluate on the photos. It just had so much charm, I couldn't pass it by - one of those Paris street fair buys from some wonderful buying trip. Those trips, we hope, will come again before too long.
