Elegant antique French hallmarked sterling silver 4pc hors d'oeuvre or condiment serving implement set with foliate or acanthus accented raised medallions, interlaced "MD" monograms, original fitted box and all in wonderful condition! A beautiful set, don't you think! Four pieces consisting of a pate scoop or spatula, fork and reticulated spoon & spatula. We're also listing a larger meat & salad serving implement set (sold separately) with the rare addition of a pele a tarte that matches this set so, guess we're your one stop shop for service pieces if you're in the market. All pieces here bear the French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number "1" within those marks designate them as being in .950 silver (95% pure and above the .925 standard for sterling silver). The silversmith marks are for Charles-Alfred Coignet, Paris circa 1865-1889. A wonderful set, one you'll love to get out and use at every occasion.
Very good condition. Some faint surface scuffs indicative of light use. No bends, breaks or repairs to any. The box is also in great shape, age considered, in a burgundy tooled leather with tufted pale blue interior lining and the "MD" monogram on top matching that on the implements. A paper retailer label on the bottom that reads "Horlogerie, Bijouterie, L.A. Longa, Mont de Marsan". See pictures for weights and measurements.
