Lovely antique French sterling silver 8oz solitaire or bachelor's sized teapot or coffee pot, a single service piece with foliate & scrolling decoration, solid ebony or ebonized wood handle and wonderful condition! We're adding a few 'single' settings and service pieces this week. Dining alone? With all of this quarantine and uncertainty going on, we thought spoiling ourselves in our solitude might be warranted. A gorgeous single serving piece here, it holds only eight fluid ounces and is meant as a single service pot (with that undeniable French elegance). It bears the post-1838 French Minerve or Minerva hallmark in several places, including the finial. The tiny number "1" within those marks means it's in .950 silver (95% pure and higher than the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). The silversmith mark is for Henri Gauthier, Paris circa 1902-1920. A beautiful little piece, spoil yourself!
Very good condition. Possibly a tiny dimple or two but no larger dents, damage or repairs. There are some darkened surface spots. No breaks or damage to the carved wood handle. See pictures for all measurements.
