Fine antique French vermeil 18k gold on sterling silver 4.5" bonbon, condiments or caviar serving bowl with Classical styling and wonderful visual appeal! We'll leave the uses up to the new owner but I'm sure they're infinite really, only limited by your imagination. The base and rim bear the French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number "1" within those marks means they're in .950 silver (95% pure and higher than the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). Silversmith marks are for Maison Ernest Cardeilhac, Paris circa 1851-1904. Cardeilhac a well known and highly reputable name where French silversmiths are concerned. Highly sought after. Good-very good condition. No dents or damage, the only notable flaw is the wear to the vermeil as seen in the images. The interior of the bowl is near pristing but you can see slight surface scuffs on the exterior and wear to the raised border and footed base. See pictures for weight and measurements.
