Beautiful little gem of a Georgian era brooch in the Etruscan influenced fashion popular in its time, this brooch acid tests at 12k gold, is mounted with 13 Persian turquoise cabochons and has both a small bale (awaits a ring) and pin back so can be worn as a brooch or a pendant. I've worn it closed over pearls, as I've often done with antique brooches. Purchased decades ago in London. Full measurements noted on the photos. Weight is 3.37 grams. It is 21 mm in diameter, and rises to 12 mm in depth plus the pin back.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type, no dents to the gold, sold gold back, which was done with the finest of these. Surprisingly little loss to the original turquoise cabochons (evaluate photos). The brooch will stay in the box shown, which I do not think is old enough to be original but is close. Brooch will date c.1770-1810, give or take.
