Antique Black Forest owl, glass eyes and proud bearing, perched atop a big stump which is hollowed out for cigars or pipe and tobacco pouch, a side-limb also hollowed to hold matches. Really a charming old one. Perfect for side table ease or fill it with rolled paper 'spills' and matches on mantel to light your fires. We've used these at table, too, with candies or condiments, but in its time, carved for a smoker's stand. Full measurements noted on the photos.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type, there really aren't any chips, even on the slender sides of the large open tree trunk, but there is a very tiny nip to the owl's 'ear' feathers you'll probably overlook, so small. Big lifelike glass eyes. Great piece!
