I have a lot of fabulous portrait miniatures that I just keep neglecting to get listed, so I'm going to do so now in a rather brief process, giving just the minimum. This one is a slightly folk art feeling painting in gouache, framed in an old period gesso on wood wall frame, and is likely English in origin. I just listed the gentleman's portrait shown in final image, which is probably this woman's husband, in case you wish to own both (sold separately). She is shown in her big chair, arm on the armrest and spectacles in her right hand. The addition of the book and vase of flowers on table, the lush drapery behind her, all add to this painting's appeal. It would be fabulous hanging in a Bru doll house display - don't you agree? A bit larger than most "miniatures", it's really charming. Photos tell all. Measurements noted on images.
