A smaller version of this, just under 7" tall, the souvenir of someone's visit to Rome, c.1900-1915, when these micro mosaic items were made and offered as devotionals and as souvenirs. I found this one in France, very nicely preserved. The small colored glass 'tesserae' are worked into a recessed basin in the cross and around the plinth or stand. A small cast of an expired Christ. Photos show it well from all angles and full measurements are noted on the photos.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type. The white metal shows some age, but there are no losses to the tiny colored glass tesserae.
