Very attractive antique Victorian era gilt embossed black leather covered wood jewelry casket with ornate brass or bronze handle cartouche & escutcheon and original fitted interior with pocket watch holder! One of two old Victorian to early Edwardian era leather covered boxes that we're adding this week. This one visually impressive with the black & gold and the original interior with lift out tray. No key but all of the original hardware intact.
Very good condition. Some of the gold has either faded, work away or possibly just hidden under some black leather polish. No missing or bubbling to the leather 'veneer' exterior. As noted, the interior is original but the small maroon silk or satin panel on the left side isn't quite wide enough for some reason, leaving the wood beneath visible.
