This stunning fine portrait miniature is an historical souvenir painting done in early 1800s, mounted in the old original French bow top frame, and it depicts 17th century Queen consort of England, Scotland and Ireland, Henrietta Maria (of France). You'll want to know more about her history, she is the daughter of Henry IV of France and Marie de Medici, and is of the Bourbon line. As you can see from the final photo referenced, a portrait by Anthony van Dyck done in her lifetime, the likeness of this miniature is superb. Found in Germany, collection of anonymous gentleman.
Very good to excellent condition throughout, age and type considered. There are no flaws notable, apart from very slight and possibly imbedded dust on background surface of the portrait wafer. The glass is flat, which likely means it is a replacement and could account for the little bit of dust visible. I did nothing to try to remove it. There are no other issues. Frame is fine but needs a little loop to hang. Vellum backing with collector's stamp on back.
