The frames are antique, the charming pair of profile portraits in pastel (chalk) housed within do not have either signature nor date, but we believe all but the inner mat are 100 years old or more. We are pretty much just pricing these for those gorgeous Napoleon III era (c.1850-70) walnut frames with the lemonwood contrasting line inlay, or stringing. As to the portraits, they are not prints, they are original works of art. The one has a tricorn hat. I bought the set in France, again, primarily for the wonderful old frames. Measurements are noted on the photos, and they do have glass intact in each.
Very good to excellent condition, nicely done profile portraits, but it's the frames that thrill. A pair of 16" x 13" walnut frames from Paris.
