A superb tall pair of decanters rising 11" with tall stoppers in place. The set are suitable for liqueur decanters, which is likely the original intention. Entirely hand made and decorated, they would date to Napoleon III era, c.1850-70s. Found in France, it is possible they're Bohemian, as similar works originate from artisans in both countries. The numbered stopper and decanter affirm they are fully original and complete. An unpolished pontil (bottom) is notable. Gilded ruffle rim. Napoleon III era opaline. Full measurements noted on the photos.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type, no chips or cracks, no hairlines or notable loss to the raised enamel painting on either one, which features butterflies with the flowers - so appealing. Recently acquired with the others shown in final group photo - the others sold separately. Beautiful for display or table use.
