I've always been drawn to these - wonderful 1700s French snuff boxes, hand carved in form of a shoe or boot, pique pins mimic the sewing, contrasting wood for tips and accents in the shoe's fancy design. I have never found another that was inlaid with mother of pearl as you see in this one, however. Pique on the soul, as well. Hinged lid. Full measurements noted on our photos.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type, very nicely preserved. I find no chips, the hinge is well preserved and there is no warp to the lid. All fits smoothly in place. More than 250 years of age.
