Rare antique French Louis XVII to Napoleon I era 1798-1809 hallmarked sterling silver 14” kabob style skewer or “hatelet” pair with finger ring handles & wonderful condition! Just a pair here but the massive length and age is quite rare and they’re part of a personal collection we’re adding in the next week or so, all in French silver (except the swords) and all in varying lengths. Both bear the French Coq hallmark that dates them between 1798-1809, the tiny number “1” within those marks means they’re in .950 silver (95% pure and above the .925 standard for “sterling” silver) Silversmith marks easily visible but I’ve not found reference to the maker yet. Not really something you think of first when it comes to a fine French sterling silver table service but, it’s the details, right? Elegant in their simplicity and obviously well cared for to have made it through the past 200 plus years in such fine shape!
Very good condition. The pictures show slight bends but they’re really easy to straighten out given the relative malleability of the silver. See pictures for all measurements and weight info.
