Gorgeous antique French Napoleon III to Belle Epoque era 3pc 15 3/4" mantel clock & two-branch candelabra garniture set, all in an ornate Louis XVI boulle style with solid gilded bronze accenting and marvelous condition!  One of my favorite clock styles, this one does run and is spectacularly beautiful as you see it. Just in from a European clock shop so you can be sure it's in fine running condition.  The cover for the face is nicely hinged and swings away evenly and smoothly so you can wind both the mechanism and the chimes on the face. The enamel clock face itself is marked solely "V. Depose" (see images). The impossibly fine condition of this one is its finest point. Not a chip anywhere on that beautiful old thing. Elegant boulle style veneer entirely in place on all three pieces, the bronze beautifully gilded with a high gold remaining. The kiln-fired enamel face is without damage, and displays Roman numerals and also notes the minutes. Hands move smoothly. The clock mechanism marked by the maker, AD Mougin.  A D Mougin was a well-known French clock maker working in the mid to late nineteenth century.  He is known to have made clocks in the French clock making region of Montbeliard (which is close to the Swiss border) and is also listed as having premises on the Rue de Turenne in Paris.  The company won two gold medals at exhibitions for his clocks and used these as the basis for his trademark which contain the ‘Deux Medailles’ . This trademark can usually be found stamped on the back of his clocks.  Isn't it a gorgeous old set.

Very good to excellent condition. No chips to the veneer, no loss to the cast appliques, legs, etc., and not a bit of loss to that wonderful kiln-fired enamel face, either. Compete to the key and bell, it does run but we've not monitored it for duration or accuracy (normally, these are 8-day movements). Dates around the 1880s surely and is French, of course. Beautiful reddish color to the shell.  See pictures for all measurements.
