These sets are so rare to find with their original Baccarat crystal, we're thrilled to offer this one. We have a period stand for a set like this in finest old French sterling silver, offered separately, but it no longer has the crystal. This one not only has all 3 of the original crystal decanters, but also 8 of the original 12 cordials, all in beautiful condition with no more than a tiny rim nip or two, if anything. No cracks, no breaks, no hairlines. Even the original stoppers remain. The handle shows the French Empire influences of design. These were popular and in use in the latest 1700s to early 1800s, and this one would be not later than 1825.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type. The crystal is all original to this stand and only 4 cordials have gone missing in the past 200+ years. One of the remaining cordials/cups has a glue repaired break to the stem but is still usable. The crystal is wave-wheel-cut in a splendid pattern that we have seen in the very early Baccarat catalogues in France. There is not a signature, but we are certain it is all Baccarat. Also certain of the date. Our museum quality goods are all guaranteed to be accurately described. The stand is ivory-toleware trimmed out in ormolu (brass alloy with high golden finish to it). Measurements are found on the photos directly. Please look there.
