Fantastic HUGE antique Victorian era Swiss Black Forest hand carved 12.5" tall smoker's stand, a seated Breinz bear with two-tone glass eyes, variations in the wood finish coloring, holding a honey pot style hollow log and his head opens at the shoulders to a pipe tobacco or cigar cache space inside! A massive piece, what you see here has been painstakingly hand carved from one solid block of wood (you can even see the tree rings in the base). One of the most popular of the Black Forest figures, the Breinz bear and this one especially large and with wonderful detail!
Very good to excellent condition, age & materials considered. A few small nips but both ears and the nose tip fully intact, they're usually the first to get chipped, etc. There is a restored age/drying crack in his right paws area, filled & stained and hard to notice unless you're really looking for it.
