Fine Antique Russian niello sterling silver snuff box, assayer's mark for Mikhail Karpinsky and maker's mark "AK", and "84" zolotniks mark, is gold plated inside. Dates 1823, has a depiction of the Euestian statue of Peter the Great in the Senate Square in St. Petersburg, (which I have seen while there in St. Petersburg) an original bronze by Etienne Maurince Falconet (created 1768-1792).  There are accompanying military flags and symbols on the reverse side.  Full measurements noted on the photos.

Very good to excellent condition for age and type, there are no dents and the gold interior remains in quite excellent condition, as well. I have not found the silversmith mark identity (AK) and as that if you know it, please email us. Very light loss perhaps to some niello, and entirely hand-crafted. Perhaps a commemorative from earlier battles or heroes?
