Architectural salvage, either panels from the built-in hand carved paneling of a beautiful old estate or chateau, or doors from a cabinet or piece of superbly crafted old furniture. These are a pair from a matching group of panels we've just brought in from France and we have quite a group, each pair is sold separately so be sure to look for them, put together just what you want to bring a custom and opulent detail to your own cabinetry. The panels are, as noted, entirely hand carved of wood. They all date early to mid-1800s, and all have just been cleaned and waxed after their long storage and their trip here from France. Sold as set of 4 pieces, 2 pairs: Shaped cornucopia with fruit, matches the panels with Chimera/Griffen (sold separately), but does not show one: Each of the larger pair measures 12.25" at highest point x 7.5" x 1.5" deep, and the smaller pair is 9.5" x 7" and is .75" in depth. Neo-Gothic or Renaissance Revival in design, featuring cornucopia and fruit on each.
Shown front and back, measurements noted upon, and condition visible in photos. Note this pair has a chip at the very top of one panel and outer top corner of the other (see images), still gorgeous! Look for other matching panels, all sold as separate pairs - get creative! These sets of panels would be beautiful made up into the doors of a cabinet, or even a recessed cabinet. Some choose to mount these with an outer frame directly onto kitchen or bath cabinetry to enhance and elevate. To have such incredible carvings done to order now would be prohibitive in cost. The old ones are always just finer, aren't they.
