I do know it's not a true decoy, but a hand carved wood sculpture, hand painted by the artist, and that it is more than 43 years old. I also know that when I bought it for my ex-husband, a sportsman, it came with a certificate of authenticity with signature of the artist, cost over $400 way back then, and that I apparently did not get custody of the certificate. I don't see a signature on the duck. If you collectors happen to recognize it, let me know so I can add to description, please. At that time, it was quite high in a very legitimate sportsmen's gallery, so seems likely it's a good collection piece. Has the feel of a follower of Anthony Elmer Crowell (MA, b. 1862, d. 1951), and is nicely done with pin feather tail and glass eyes, carved wood feet and legs. Full measurements noted on photos.

Very good to excellent condition with 2 flaws to note. A small flash-chip on end of tail where the wood is carved very thin, and a very slight separation hairline in paint on part of the duck's neck. Firmly affixed to the burl base. Displays beautifully!
