Fabulous & rare vintage Art Deco or Mid-century Modern continental .800 (nearly sterling) silver 9pc writer's desk set including silver topped inkwell, wax seal or sceau, desk clock, perpetual calendar, paper weight, stamps box, stationery stand, paper knife or letter opener and more! Wonderful! It always seems hard to find these comprehensive matching desk sets. This quite rare for us in that the style is decidedly Art Deco or Mid-century Modern, something we really haven't dabbled in all that much. All silver pieces bear German hallmarks, the "800" means they're in at least at least 80% pure silver and basically the standard for the area. The silversmith marks of "TM" appear to be for Theodor Muller of Weimar, c. 1900-1940s. A wonderful gift for the writer in your family OR, a fabulous ensemble for the inkwell & desk top items collectors. Don't miss it!
Very good condition. There is a chip to the front left corner of the stamps box and that rear space on it may have had a removable lid. The inkwell also has a bit of a yellow tint to it while the other pieces are crystal clear. I did not check the calendar inserts to make sure all dates are intact. The clock does run but I'm not sure of its accuracy or duration. See pictures for all measurements.
